Craft Roots: Students ages 12 to 16 have the opportunity to sign up for as many as 10 craft classes over the course of 5 days. Classes meet in half-day segments from 9am to noon; then from 1:00pm to 4pm.

Classes being offered include: Chandling (candle making), jewelry making, basket weaving, broom making, drawing, leather working, cheese making, soap making, blacksmithing, woodcarving, weaving, quilting, stained glass, pottery, and letterpress printing

Students will be divided into three groups of four per class because of equipment and classroom space. 12 students maximum per class.

Folk Kids Youth Program: For younger children ages 8-12, students will have the opportunity to spend 5 days doing a variety of activities including making plenty of old-time crafts, playing games, and exploring with one of the park's youth programs specialists. Expect lots of fun, excitement, and adventure.

Registration deadline March 9, 2018.

"[Example of a class] Soap making – watch a demonstration of Linda making soap, follow along on your handout and take notes. Cut hardened soap. Explore different scents and additives and why you would add them to soap. Make your own lotion bar. Choose your favorite bar of soap to keep"

Scholarships are available. Call 870-269-3851 to register or inquire about our scholarships. Students will need to choose their top 12 favorite classes when they register.
