Children's Programs

Folk Center activities especially for kids:

Folk Kids Club

This is a special club just for our underage crowd. Upon entry into the park each child automatically becomes a member of the Folk Kid's Club. They can pick up materials for a scavenger hunt throughout the park. When they return with a completed card they will receive a "Folk Kids" button and other special treats! There are also special booths throughout the park that give your child the opportunity to have a hands-on experience and learn a little bit about different pioneer crafts and skills. They can try on a coonskin hat and be a Mountain Man, or try their hand at weaving.

Young Pioneers

A program for ages 7-14 which offers hands-on classes in 18th & 19th century Ozark lifestyle skills. These classes are on Saturdays in April, May, September & October; on Tuesday through Saturday in June & July, and on Wednesday through Saturday in August. Times are at 11 am-2:00 and 3:30 PM.

Day Camp

July 7–11, 2008 and July 21–25, 2008 HOURS: 9 am until 4 pm. Participants will be allowed to come as early as 8:30 am and stay until we close at 5 pm. (We hope this will accommodate working folks.) Registrations for both dates close a week before the program starting date
