Soapmaking - Clean and Natural

Take home the soaps you make and the skills to make your own natural soap!

Soapmaking - Clean and Natural
November 14 - 15, 2013

In this two-day class you'll learn to make wholesome soaps using old-fashioned ingredients and modern methods.

Using vegetable oil, lye and water you'll make your soap. Then you will create your own unique scent blends with essential oils. On the first day, you'll learn all about different oils for different soaps and you'll make soap.
The second day, you'll cut and package your soaps.

Class cost is $230, payable directly to the instructor.

Bring an apron, smock or old shirt to cover your clothes.

Registration deadline is November 1. Due to space limitations this class is limited to two students. You'll get lots of personal attention from Aunt Linda!

Class begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning. Meet your instructor in the Administration Building and go to class from there. Class generally wraps up by 4 p.m. with a break on your own for lunch.

Call Jeanette at 870-269-3851 for more information on this and other craft classes.

Meet your instructor -

Multi-talented crafts person Linda Odom is known for her fun and patient teaching style. A popular fiber arts instructor, Linda took over the soap shed at the Ozark Folk Center in 2011 and in 2012 she is opening the Village Apothecary Shop. Her many naturally scented soaps keep the whole craft village smelling clean and sweet. In her soapmaking classes you are sure to have fun and come out with the ability to continue in your new skill.
