Southeast Regional Folk Alliance
October 14 - 18, 2009
The Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View Arkansas will be hosting the South East Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA) event October 14-18, 2009. The event will feature singers, songwriters and performers from our region in an event for the entire family. The event is commandeering all 60 rooms of the Cabins at Dry Creek, and rooms at other town lodging facilities, for presenters as well as event attendees.
Daytime activities will include workshops ranging from how to help you operate in the music business, marketing, merchandising, and promotion. There will also be craft, music and dance workshops for ages 6 to 96. Evening showcases will feature presenting artists, as well as some of our local traditional artists. Late in the evening, guerilla showcases will continue into the night as presenters convert lodge rooms into impromptu intimate showcases that you can move among as you like. Opportunites to book artists for your venue will be numerous.
If you are flying in for the event, a low cost shuttle will run once a day from the Little Rock Airport to Mountain View.

Thank you to all who submitted showcase applications this year. It was a pleasure to choose from a great group of applicants, and we are looking forward to hearing you all in October! Watch the listserve for emails in the coming weeks detailing guerilla showcase opportunities, workshop details, conference schedule, and other various excitements as the minutiae come into focus. SERFA is still growing and only in its second year of hosting an annual conference, but we got an excellent start last year and are continuing to build community this year. The Ozark Folk Center is going to be our own playground for the weekend and I can't wait to return and see the Fall splendor in Mountain View.
