With special activities designed for children of all ages, the Ozark Folk Center State Park is more than a children's museum, and it's even more than living history for kids. It is a "see, touch and do" pioneer adventure, an experience the whole family will treasure for years to come. We have three kid-friendly programs, Folk Kids' Club, Young Pioneers and Day Camps, scheduled throughout our season. In fact, the whole park is kid-friendly. You and your child can enjoy riding on the donkey swing, exploring the herb gardens, or creating fun heritage crafts. Come on the 4th of July and enjoy old-fashioned sack races and apple bobs with free watermelon at the end of the day.  Plan a trip or sign up for a pioneer day camp today!

Educational, Fun Field Trip Ideas!

We invite you to bring your class to the Ozark Folk Center State Park. With advance notice and your curriculum goals, our park staff will work with you to make sure your visit is a memorable one. Our programs are geared to give children a "hands-on" experience. They will see crafters and living history performers dressed in pioneer costumes of the late 18th and early 19th century. They'll enjoy the lively traditional American folk music and pioneer crafts, typical for the early Ozarks, being demonstrated here at the park. We guarantee to give your students a history lesson that's educational and FUN, so find out how to plan your Ozark field trip today.
